Oh how I hate the fact I had to recover my laptop: I lost my bookmark lists. I really forgot to backup the links since I’ve been mainly using the RSS Owl to enforce my way through the internet. And I absolutely dislike using the Del.icio.us or Furl services to save my links. Sad thing is I lost most of my academic resources, a very annoying fact! Oh well, let’s see what turns out of substitutional course for Sozialwissenschaftliche Methoden 2… :(

Why dislike Furl.net? Great software.
Dear Mike,
I believe my post was just infected by venting. Furl or Delicious itself are quite useful for social software networking, but in the end I rather prefer to make a safe copy of the website I plan to bookmark and then (after saving a local copy) I create the bookmark. Why doing such? Simply because of one reason: It’s handy to keep an offline copy for academic research and for crediting sources in academic papers. Sometimes the content absolutely changes on the web, and I am able to hand in my dated copy…
Best regards
Mike
